Playing in the snow with Tash and her roommates. But don’t be fooled, it’s a day to day struggle.
We finally made our nest!! Day 17 and i’m feeling great. The roommies and I just finished a riveting game of Ruin Your Buddy. Another Beatty family classic, as Taryn describes it. As you can see from the photo that the lovely Hanna just posted on instagram, we have decided to merge our mini beds to make one large supereuro bed. Probably one of our best ideas yet.
Anyways, week two of classes is going fine so far. I have to finish a novel a week for my literature class, which is infinitely more than the amount I usually read being a business major. But bring it on. I can’t complain about anything. I have my spring break booked, minus the hostel. We will be spending a couple days in Belgium for Sensation White then going straight to Barcelona where we will meet up with Taryn and Allie. It’s going to be a ball.
Last night was the Super Bowl. As we all know, the Giants beat the Patriots. On a scale of 1 to 10, I only really care about a 6. But we watched the game at Space, a popular disco here in Florence. 10 euro got us entry and seats for the game, 2 drinks, and a unlimited buffet. The buffet promised us mozzarella sticks, which never came. So I was actually pissed because I was looking forward to that for days. Sad, I know.
The night before we started out at Angie’s Pub. We’re regulars there by now and free drinks always come our way. Our new bartender friend Ali let us in on the know about popular night destinations for locals. He told us about Babylon, a disco that wasn’t another annoying American club like the places we’ve been going to. We’ve had to actively try to get away from Americans because there are so many study abroad students, it’s ridiculous. But we just bought our tickets for Chuckie, a dj we’ll be seeing at the end of the month. I’m looking forward to that.
Food Update:
Cate has been cooking us AMAZING dinners. Saving us a bundle.
Weather Update:
Miserable. Snowing
Stumbled upon a cute vintage market while wondering around Florence. I’m going to need to go back for some tulips.
Pisa is a beautiful city.. siiike. But having the classic Leaning Tower of Pisa shot was worth it.
